The James 1:27 Trust has pioneered the concept of “virtual adoption”. The virtual adoption concept is based on the African premise that “it takes a village to grow a child”. The James 1:27 Trust proposes that the concept ‘village’ be extended to include the “global village”. The connection between the two villages represents the “virtual village”. This is where you can become involved. So what is required?

You will also receive a tax certificate at the end of the year.

Silo's include:

  • Operational Costs
  • Food and Nutrition
  • Shelter and Care
  • Protection
  • Health
  • Psychosocial
  • Education and Skills Training

Virtual Adoption

Be matched with a family.

Sponsor a specific family for R127 per month and become part of a sponsor team/cluster. This generally amounts to 15 sponsors paying R127 each per month, in which they commit to supporting a family over 36 months.

The cost of supporting family of 3 children is about R1,900 per month so you will become one of a team of 15 people looking after the same family. If you would like to raise this team yourself, you would be welcome to do so. Simply encourage all 15 team members to fill in a separate registration form for each, indicating their commitment of R127 for 36months and supplying a team name which will enable us to match all 15 with the same family.

Alternatively, we will place you in a sponsor team with other individuals. All details are kept confidential and secure. Of course, you may well elect to pay the full R1,900 yourself.

Each family is assessed and a care plan instituted for each child within the family. The areas of care within the care plan are as follows:

  • Operational Costs
  • Food and Nutrition
  • Shelter and Care
  • Protection
  • Health
  • Psychosocial
  • Education and Skills Training

We will send you an instant email acknowledging your monthly deposit and a quarterly report on the family that you support. You will also receive a tax certificate at the end of the tax year. This allows you to deduct up to 10% of your taxable income from SARS.
